BeActive EU Sport Awards

“I was impressed by the children from Țițești, a spectacular, unique, and extremely competitive oina club.”– Adrian Bughiu, Vice President of the Argeș County Council.

This statement was originally shared on Mr. Bughiu’s Facebook page and was later partially reposted on the official page of the County Council, following the participation of the Olimpicii Țițești Sports Club in the opening event of the European Week of Sport, held in Pitești, the capital of Argeș County.

In this way, for the first time, the initiatives of volunteers and their achievements were brought to the attention of the wider public and highlighted by state representatives themselves, on the occasion of the 10th edition of #BeActive – European Week of Sport. These actions inspire and actively engage members of the Țițești community, citizens from Argeș County, representatives from various localities of the South-Muntenia region, from Ialomița and Teleorman counties, from Sibiu county of neighboring region called the Center region, and not least, from Romania’s capital (Sector 3).

This context was generated by a team of volunteers, sons of the village of Țițești, who in recent years, through their example, have managed to shape the culture of volunteering locally, regionally, and even in the capital city of Romania – leading us to affirm that Țițești is a true Volunteering Center.

These initiatives shows us dedication, leadership, and the positive impact of volunteers in fostering community engagement, inclusivity, and the development of Oina sport at all levels.
